Pink Magic vs Farty Pants

image by shelley t; a teensy corner of petit-petit's room, where 'pink magic' resides

I am a major Christina Gordon fan, her cutesy Blythe-like art gets me everytime. I walk by her artwork most days, so it seemed an obvious choice when I was creating a nursery for Petit to get him a little something. Petit has since moved rooms, the little portrait has gone with him, they seem quite happy.

In the meantime I found one for my bedroom, which I love, she makes me very happy. So of course, it was only fair that when Petit-Petit came along, he got a little something special. I chose an artwork that wasn't too frou-frou.

Here she is, she is beautiful and looks great in the space. I am extremely happy and so was Petit-Petit....right up until about three months ago. Suddenly he was calling me and asking me - in 2 year old language - to remove the 'scary girl'. So, she has sat on the floor of my bedroom. Every now and again I sneak her back, but the little bloke notices every single time!

So I am thinking of a permanent replacement....a little while ago Christina created this latest work for her partner, cutely entitled 'Farty Pants'. I know he is wearing a mask as well, but surely if I explained 'Farty Pants' to Petit-Petit he would be more welcome than the little dark angel 'Pink Magic'. I mean, you know boys....they are all about bodily functions, making smells and laughing at each other's, right? Maybe he would see the funny side and decide the rude little boy could stay? I might have to buy him and find out...

Peace and Happiness...

image; the amazingly talented and always inspiring jane foster...just love her blog!
...are my wishes for the rest of 2010. Here's hoping. You just never know when some part of life is going to turn up and bite your butt extra hard, but when that happens there are no better people to share it with than the blog community. Many thanks to you for your messages (both private and public) of support and love. Much appreciated.

So, tomorrow it is time to get back to what I love, sharing Galmont, Chez Trbuhovich, the T-Tribe and all the creative (a few) and not-so creative (more than a few) thoughts that swim around in my head.

Friends, today I attended my third funeral in two weeks, so I am taking a little more time to reflect, hang out with family and friends and get my groove back. I'm looking forward to posting regularly again, thanks for giving me breathing space. See you back here soon. x

Love and Loss

image; found here

Friends, I am going to take a week out. My family and friends are dealing with devastating losses at this time, my head is all over the place. I love blogging, but I have hit a blank in terms of writing about the positive happenings in my world.

Take care, hold your loved ones just that little tighter tonight. See you next Friday.

Easter Show and Tell

image; James for Galmont - yes, that is a vintage poster in the background; Kinagin by Patke, 1941.

On Easter Saturday, L'Homme, the Petits and Moi, went along to our dear friends, the J's. One of the J's, sweet James, works with us at Galmont. (BTW, people often warn us about employing friends "don't do it, it's very tricky", quite frankly, we've never found that to be the case. If anything, it has been the opposite for us.) Anyway, James's Father has been cellaring wine on every birthday and Christmas since James was a little one and there were bottles begging to be opened. So we were invited to participate, all we had to do was bring a few foodie things to eat and be ready to indulge in some pretty spectacular wines. This is the evidence of a superb evening...and I've noticed that the dessert wine isn't included....

In Australia, we have ourselves a four-day break, starting today, to celebrate the Easter season.
I'm looking forward to hanging with my family....and eating chocolate....while drinking champagne....is there any other way to enjoy chocolate, really?
Will be back on Tuesday, take care until then. x

Please note; Galmont is open on Easter Saturday 11 - 5pm.; reopening Tuesday 6th of April

So lovely to be included in Grazia magazine this week. A little bit of pop art to make the walls sing. Many thanks to the Grazia team.
